Word of advice: avoid anyone identifying themselves as "former college" anything. Usually means they peaked in college and have been living in the past ever since. Take it from a former college advice columnist...

I, too, am a former college athlete. The fact that it was only in tennis, and then sproatic at best because all college teams were sporatic in tennis,is immaterial. I'm even a former high school athlete and have a letter sweater to prove it. Again it was tennis, and again the team was hit & miss--we were coached, kinda, by the junior high english teacher. Only kids that already knew how to play were on the team. I also swam, but there was no real team and no pool at my high school. Again, only kids with former speed swimming talent in the AAU age group programs competed. I think there was one meet.

So I am a former high school & college athelete. I am now overweight, have bad knees and a touchy shoulder. Former doesn't get you any where.

That is so funny. I worked in Az with this girl who had been (once upon a time) voted Miss Benson. Benson was the town. She continually (up to 12 years later) addressed herself as Ms. Benson. as in-- "Hi, I'm Miss Benson" and she'd shake hands. Her real name never came up. What was her name???
