That’s a headline from today’s Post.

Seriously, is anyone out there aruging that crack is good for society? Because that might be refreshing.

Dope is dope. You’ve got to be a dope to use dope. That’s why they call it dope.
I’m not paid to be stupid.

But alas, Ray, dope is slang for good and cool. Drugs aren’t good and cool, kids. However, did a little pot ever hurt anyone over the age of 18??

But you have to appreciate the fancy headline writer who put together the pun that “crack” was causing a “rift.” You know, because a crack IS a rift.

It’s funny.

Isn’t it?

Or am I on crack?

Comment by Dude — August 28, 2007 @ 6:39 pm

you know what’s awesome about crack?

everything.

Can we do crack in November (the month, not the guy)? I hear that’s the thing to do there in DC.

Comment by Midwestern 007 — August 28, 2007 @ 10:21 pm

Dude, I would do any kind of crack you wanted me to. (NOT REALLY, GUYS.)

Can we do crack at Chik-Fil-A? That would be awesome.

Come on: We are the city of crack!!!

we had a mayor on crack (”Bitch set me up!!!”- my favorite line of all time!!!)

We have bridges that are full of (say it with me) cracks

And We have jeans that foster crack!

What a country!

Comment by Ray — August 29, 2007 @ 10:15 am

I guess I’ve got to agree with John.
“What a country!”
In my line of work, I’ve met crack whores, people who have been in prison for 8-10 years for drug distribution, children abandoned by both parents who were lost in the crack wars. But, I have to also admit to having had a shot or two of whiskey from time-to-time and I am familiar with the odor of pot (no further comment as to how I know this fact).
I guess it just depends on your perspective.

Comment by neko — August 29, 2007 @ 8:17 pm

… so when you noticed the odor of pot, did you inhale ?

(i moved to the district back in june 89 during the (glory) years of Mayor-for-Life Barry. and my bf & i toasted Mr. Mayor in the bar of the Vista Hotel the wknd after he got busted there. *tsk* dc’s been so boring ever since then … )

Sounds as though Senator Craig is keeping things interesting for both DC and Idaho. Way to go! I guess he was looking for a bit of crack himself.

Comment by haircutter — August 30, 2007 @ 3:57 pm

But, he is NOT GAY. We can’t lose focus of that fact.

Comment by haircutter — August 30, 2007 @ 3:58 pm

And I’m pretty sure that coffee is my “crack”.

Comment by Dude — August 30, 2007 @ 4:38 pm

Wait… is THAT the type of crack that is causing a rift in society?

I naturally thought it was the drug. Silly me. I guess trolling for (ass)crack in airport bathrooms is tearing a rift in American society. In the last year alone we’ve lost a couple of capital hillians and an evangelist to (ass)crack.

Comment by Mela — August 31, 2007 @ 8:52 am

I know, I’m so glad he keep emphasizing that he is not gay. Because that’s really what I was worried about.

Comment by Amelia — August 31, 2007 @ 6:52 pm

Why in the goddamn did it take 2-1/2 months for this story to break? Looks like the not gay Republican is going to resign tomorrow. Sad, sad day in American when you can’t be true to your sexuality.

Comment by haircutter — August 31, 2007 @ 7:43 pm

Isn’t that the saddest part?? (Amelia) Do politicians think we are not smart enough to seperate sexuality from business?? Are there that many homophobic Americans that this is true??? sad, sad, sad. But, Senator Craig is not gay, so what is the big deal? Just your usual straight guy bathroom antics.

Comment by Stuck in Kuwait — September 6, 2007 @ 3:21 pm

Gay, Bi who gives a crap! What’s his defense going to be after he already admitted his guilt? Sounds like one of those “It depends on what the definition of the word “IS” is”. Come on Man, you got caught trying to kill some time on a layover. Busted…now wipe off that chin and go line up before all the good seats are gone on southwest…
