More Lessons in Living Your Life Wisely, as taught by Niece-y herself
- Always carry water with you; it’s important to stay hydrated.
- If you can’t sleep, wake up everyone you know so you will not feel lonely.
- There’s really no reason to be self-concious when you’re naked. It’s just naked.
- Run after everything that looks interesting.
- Watch your step. If you trip, there will almost always be someone right behind you to break your fall, but not every time. Especially if you move really fast.
- Sharing is overrated.
- Always take the stairs; it’s more fun.
- Who cares if you get dirty?
- When someone tells you no, just start laughing. It throws them off.
- Conversely, if you don’t want to do something, say no. Don’t worry about hurting anyone’s feelings or being polite. Nancy Reagan was right; just say no.

Did you get to go see the Princess??? Must have been real sweet, she is ginchy! Did you get to hold her while she was sleeping?
I did see her! Over the long weekend- she is puuuurrrrrfect. Her new trick is to floss. When mommy and daddy floss, she has to have a piece and she runs it around in her mouth til it’s grody. She also likes to pick up miniscule pieces of dirt of the ground and hand them to you.
Nice niece-y. that’s all.
My granddaughter is soooo precious and beautiful. I am grateful that her parents, which include my son, are allowing her to be a child and have a childhood.
I mean, getting dirty, dancing when you feel like it, and laughing at the world is what it’s all about.
Nice niece-y. that’s all? Heavens. She’s supercalifragilisticexbealadocious!

No disrespect intended. I am sure niece-y is the cutest and sweetest niece/daughter/granddaughter of all time.
Just that niece-y is nice–nice to all. A nice niece to think about amidst the chaos of all our lives, personal, professional, political.
